Badurday- May 18- Benedict Cumberbatch

I’m not a huge Star Trek fan- I prefer Star Wars and Doctor Who, but I am a very, very big fan of Benedict Cumberbatch. I think he’s absolutely brilliant and I’m planning to see the movie for him and him alone. It’ll be two hours of bliss for me- at least when he’s on the screen. I also like Simon Pegg and some of the other actors in this one but be sure Benedict is the lure for me and he looks to be deliciously evil in this one. If you see it, I hope you enjoy!

On my personal blog, I’m participating in a blog hop and have a couple of giveaways. I’m also donating sales proceeds for the weekend to my local animal shelter. Pop in and say hi at JillianChantal.com

Badurday – February 9, 2013- “Warm Bodies”

This new movie based on a book seems to be taking the world by storm and I’ve been trying to make it to the theater to see it since it came out. I was going on Thursday with one of my sons but the second one said he wanted to go as well and he had class so we’re going to try to go today. I really felt old when I learned that the star of the movie was the little boy in the movie with Toni Collette and Hugh Grant About a Boy. Can you believe that cute kid, Nicholas Hoult, grew up to be so handsome even as a zombie? I love it. Here’s<a href="http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xvidhi_warm-bodies-with-teresa-palmer-trailer-2_shortfilms“> a link to the trailer in case you’re wondering what the heck I’m yammering on about.

Badurday- December 15, 2012- Blog Hop

The Secret Cravings authors are doing a favorite things blog hop this weekend and giving away some super books and other stuff. I’m giving away five of my favorite things. Come by my personal blog here and comment for a chance to win. You can also click the link to the other blogs in the hop. And of course, my favorite bad boy, Alan Rickman plays a part- how could he not?

Here’s my post from over there:

Here goes: Five things that find favor with me:

1. Lindt chocolates. The extra creamy one is my absolute favorite. Although my normal go-to chocolate is dark, this extra creamy stuff is a treat.

2. Scarves. I love to wear scarves. I wear them year round because they can dress up a plain outfit quite nicely. They add a touch of color in the summer and a touch of warmth in the winter. They are multi-purpose and fun.

3. Tea. I drink tea all day long. My favorite for hot tea is Earl Grey but I will drink most any of it. I’m not as big a fan of green tea since it seems too puny to me. I like a robust, black tea. As to cold tea, I like mine straight. No sugar, no lemon, no anything to muddy the waters, so to speak.

4. Of course, anyone who has read this blog knows I can’t have a list of favorites without including my favorite actor of all time, Alan Rickman. My kids call him my alphabet man because he could be on the television or movie screen and recite the alphabet and I’d watch. Sadly, they’re right.

5. My book called Surf Break-. I love my town – it’s one of my favorite things and this story is based here where I live and pays homage to my favorite eating joint on the beach, Surf Burger.

The giveaway? Some chocolate, a scarf, some tea, an Alan Rickman movie and a e-copy of Surf Break. Leave me your comments and then hop on over to some of the other blogs. 14674_2541024421320_759478737_a

Badurday- December 1, 2012- Free Read

I have a free read available today from Desert Breeze Publishing- there are quite a few over there and I encourage you all to head over and download them- it will give you a chance to check out the writers’ styles and see if you like their work. Mine is called Christmas on St. Charles Avenue and takes place in New Orleans. I love that DBP gives us the option to do this each year (the free reads from prior years are available, too). This was my first year to do it and I love this little story – Here’s the blurb and cover: Isn’t the cover wonderful? The present means it’s a present to you- FREE! Merry Christmas from the Gambler and his family as well as the author.

Blurb:

New Orleans, Christmas Eve, 1947: Brothers, Dirk and Beaumont McSwain are both about to become fathers. Dirk’s wife has had a number of miscarriages and at thirty-six years old, is afraid this is her last chance for a healthy baby. Bo’s wife is pregnant for the first time. Both are due to give birth soon. The brothers arrange a surprise ride for their women in Papa Noel’s sleigh which is actually a horse drawn carriage with fake reindeer. The evening starts out merry and bright but before the night is over, they will need a Christmas miracle.

Badurday- September 22, 2012- Mark Strong

Mark Strong is one of my favorite bad boys of film. He’s deliciously wicked in all he’s called upon to do in his roles. I adore him. I wrote this lil ole book called Surfer Bride several years ago with him as the inspiration for one of the characters. That book happens to be on sale for half off through my publisher’s site until September 29, 2012. BUY LINK

This film above that I chose the trailer for today is called RocknRolla and even though it’s quite violent, it has wit and charm about it. Mark is a bad guy in a five-thousand dollar suit (the best dressed kind)- if you haven’t seen it, rent a copy or better yet, buy it for your collection. It’s a fun flick.

Badurday July 28, 2012

I’m in the middle of edits on my soon to be released book from Ellora’s Cave, Hot Pursuit and m taking a quick break to show off the cover on this Badurday. Hope to be back soon with some entertaining posts but the deadline comes first!

Badurday- May 19, 2012- Eion Bradley

I’ve been watching Once Upon a Time since it started and man, do they have some hot guys on that show. Sigh. I’ve been very intrigued by this one. He rode into town on a motorcycle with a leather jacket and jeans and a scruffy face. I melted. He’s got wonderful blue eyes and is gorgeous. We were left in the dark about him for quite a while and recently found out his role in the story. I don’t want to ruin it if you haven’t been watching, so I won’t say who he plays.

He was also in Band of Brothers and one of the sites I looked at said he was in Fight Club. He must have been super young then. I can’t recall that but mayhaps I need to watch it again.

I was working on my cover questionnaire for The Tainted Keitre, a story that is coming out with Secret Cravings Publishing and who else better to play the hero, Anton? I like when publishers ask to see a link to the person you had in mind as the characters when the story was written. I think it makes for better cover art. Of course, I also like my readers to picture the hero in their own mind with the qualities they like so I don’t overdo it on the descriptions- some say that makes me Hemingway since he didn’t like to overdo descriptions either. I take that! Enjoy Eion!

Badurday – March 31, 2012- My Latest Book Trailer

The book will be available April 15, 2012

Badurday- January 28, 2012- A Shameless Plug But a Bit About Idris Elba

My latest book comes out on February 7, 2012 and just became available for pre-order yesterday. It’s called Sebastian’s Salvation and it’s a contemporary interracial romantic suspense. My publisher has categorized it as steamy. As I have said here before, Idris Elba was my inspiration for the hero and as I did the final read-through, I did absolutely have him in my head as Sebastian. Sebastian fits the mold of our bad boys that we feature here (how could he not when I love them so much?). He was a Green Beret and we all know how tough those dudes can be.

Here is the link to the site. It is on sale at a reduced price until the 14th of February. http://www.bookstrand.com/sebastians-salvation

Blurb:

Three lives intertwine—a former Green Beret, now a painter of nude portraits tormented by the death of his comrade, an earl’s daughter, and a crazed stalker. Will the acts of the stalker force the soldier back into the life of violence which he sought to avoid?

Sebastian Hughes, wounded on a mission in Afghanistan, discovers a talent for painting nude portraits while in a rehabilitation center learning to walk again after losing part of his leg. He becomes the toast of London society and women clamor to be painted by him.

Lady Joanna Gresham, nursing a broken heart and used to getting what she wants, sets her sights on having her portrait painted by Sebastian. Once she meets him, she wants him for herself. She pursues him, intent on winning him. What she didn’t count on was a stalker who wants to harm everyone Sebastian holds dear.
